Join us for a discussion and book signing with local author Penni Kolpin, celebrating her new book — Musings from a Kintsukuroied Mind: Bridging the Gap Between Mental Crisis and Spiritual Growth.

Many of you may already know Penni — she’s been a beloved customer and friend of Isle of Books for years. We’ve had the privilege of watching her pour her heart into this project, and we couldn’t be more proud to see it finally out in the world where it belongs.

Kintsukuri means “to repair with gold,” and that’s exactly the spirit of this book. Penni reframes mental crisis and ego collapse not as endpoints, but as opportunities for growth and transformation — a perspective that is both deeply personal and widely needed.
